I know, this is no news anymore – at the end of the day a lot has been written about this app so in case you haven’t heard Twitter introduced its innovative mobile service Vine, an app that lets you capture and share short looping videos.
Did you give it a go? Similar to tweets, Vine is built around brevity with videos capped at six seconds. It allows you to stop and start the recording instantly simply by touching your mobile screen. This allows you to create a frame-by-frame montage of images or animations on the go.
I have given it a go, of course. Here is my first Vine vid labelled ‘a car vs elephants‘. I know, pretty basic but don’t judge me … instead show me your first Vine. Here is my second Vine “morning cappuccino“ - must say my partner wasn’t very impressed that I spent more time paying attention to my mobile and my coffee than to him but I actually managed to finish the coffee. For those who know me, it’s very rare that I actually finish my drink or my food.
The app looks fun but how could brands use it to connect with their fans?
Are six seconds enough to get any message across or is it just a waste of time and money?
Let me know your thoughts. In my opinion, the app needs some serious update because at the moment it doesn’t give us much to work with. It’s tedious to search, filled with tons of noise but no quality. It also doesn’t connect with your Facebook properly and you can search for vids online. Feeling a little disappointed actually…
